Student Life
The students who are drawn to Williams tend to be smart, friendly, and interested in other people. Scientists or artists, they’re often creative thinkers. They’re talented yet open to improvement. They’re curious and enterprising and used to working hard.
They also tend to be active people who appreciate the outdoors, whether they merely gaze at the mountains as they walk to class or get up at 4:00 a.m. to be on top of them at sunrise.
Students like these create a community that is open, warm, supportive, and surprisingly noncompetitive. Though everyone is motivated to excel, our students generally enjoy working together. And they are glad to be here. For almost every student, Williams was their first-choice college.
