Affordability

We meet 100 percent of every student’s demonstrated financial need. More than half of our students receive financial aid, and the average aid package is $44,753 a year.

Need-Blind Admission

Williams has a need-blind admission policy for domestic students. That means we admit the most qualified and compelling students without regard for their ability to pay—your family’s financial circumstances will never play a role in our admission decision. We consider financial aid money well spent—an investment in our community.

Financial Aid: Tuition and More

There are no hidden costs at Williams. Once you’re here—no matter how much financial aid you receive—you’ll have access to the same opportunities as every other Williams student. Financial aid is portable and can be applied to study away programs as well as Winter Study trips and projects. It covers 100% of the cost of books and course materials so the price of books will never be a factor in the courses you choose. The college also subsidizes most campus events. You’ll attend parties for free, movies for $1, and major concerts and events for less than $5—making the cost of living at Williams far lower than at almost any other campus.

If you’re in the high school graduating class of 2014 and from a low-income, first-generation or traditionally underrepresented background, we encourage you to apply for WOW.  During the three-day WOW program, students have the opportunity to attend sessions that shed light on admission and financial aid polices, interact with faculty and staff, stay in a student dormitory, and enjoy performances by student groups.  Williams covers all program expenses for WOW, including meals and travel to and from campus.   If you have questions about WOW please email WOW@williams.edu.
